The Howlett Honours Prize in Geography was established by Emeritus Professor Diana Howlett on her retirement from the Department of Geography, Faculty of Science. The prize was first awarded in 1997. She established this award to recognise outstanding achievement by an Honours student in Geography and to perpetuate the fine tradition of the Geography Department's Honours Program.
